Paris

Paris, France

Paris is my favorite place in the world. Its beauty and culture just fascinates me. Its so different from America. The people seem to be very polite and friendly.

Just a few facts ...

Paris is the largest city and is also the capital of France. The city is known for its beauty and its culture. Paris is located in the north central part of France. Has a great historical and culture heritage. It is a "hub for education, business, science, politics, fashion, shopping, arts and media."
It is said to have existed for more than 2,000 years. It is also said the early inhabitiants of Paris were "Parisii." The Parisii's were a Gaulish tribe that settled in the city during the pre-Roman era. The city is said to have been derived from the name of this tribe.
Paris was attacked by other countries and influenced from the Parisii's.
Paris is located on the "Seine River" and has two natural islands ... "Ile da la Cite" and "Ile Saint-Louis." The two islands are connected by bridges.
The city has a flat terrian and has an oval structure. It is also near the "Bay of Biscay" and the "English Channel in Western Europe."
The climate is moderate and nice. Rains can be expected anytime throughout the year. There aren't heavy showers and it pours for a short time. It rarely snows.
The monuments in Paris are the Eiffel Tower, my personal favorite, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Louvre Museum, Arc de Triomphe, and the Versailles Palace. The Eiffel Tower stands 324 meters high, weighs about 7,300 tons, and is the 2nd highest structure in the world.
Just a last fact ... Paris is known as the most romantic city in the world and on an average of 45 million visitors yearly.
More information to come....
